This blog post is all about the best ’90s cartoons of all time (in our opinion).
What we’re going to do is go back, way back, back into time… If you read that in a certain voice then, you totally get us. Obviously, we love a lot of things about the ’90s.
The clothes, music, toys, style, and video games of this time takes us back to the days when you actually had to go outside to meet people. A time where you didn’t have to worry about the number of likes on a post.

’90s Cartoons That Were Good Then, But Even Better Now

1. Courage The Cowardly Dog (1999-2002)
Courage is a dog with paranoia who always finds a way to rescue his owners. This show was on Cartoon Network and this show was popular because of this pink fearful dog and elderly family.

2. Angry Beavers (1997-2001)
If you are a millennial, when you see an image of the Angry Beavers, It instantly takes you back. This show made absolutely no sense but was very entertaining. The two beavers Daggett and Norbert Get into a whole lot of shenanigans.

3. The Ren & Stimpy Show (1991-1995)
Did you know that Ren from his show is a Chihuahua?
Now, this was a show that some adults enjoyed during this time. So we are sure there are some jokes in this show that you may understand as a grown-up.

4. Rocko’s Modern Life (1993-1996)
This 90s animated cartoon is about Rocko, a wallaby, and his experiences in America. We follow him through his journey of work, neighbors, and just life in general.

5. Bevis and Butthead (1993-2011)
Now we know this show went to 2011, but the ’90s were the prime of Beavis and Butthead. The show is about two teenage friends who love heavy metal and like to do weird things when they are bored.
This was one of those shows we weren’t supposed to watch as kids, but we managed to watch it anyway.

6. Johnny Bravo (1997-2004)
We don’t know if Johnny Bravo would have made it if it were out these days, but it was very popular back in the day. Johnny is a muscle-bound alpha male who is full of himself. Oh, and he also lives with his mom.
The main joke of the show is how he often tries to get women to go out with him. Most of the time he is unsuccessful, but his big hair, sunglasses, and funny karate chop were enough to entertain most of us.

7. Hey Arnold! (1994-2004)
This cartoon is a ’90’s classic. This is about a city boy named Arnold and his life as a fourth-grader in an urban area. There are so many memorable characters in this show like Gerald, Helga, Sid, and Phoebe.
This show was so popular, they had to make a movie where Helga finally confesses her love for Arnold, well kind of. It’s a show you have to see if you want to understand or re-experience cartoons from this time period.
It’s a journey through the life of a 9-year-old Arnold who tries to always do the right thing.
8. Animaniacs (1993-1995)
Yakko Wakko and Dot are three siblings who get into a lot of situations that make this show and full of trouble. This show has a ton of looney tunes surrounding the three mains.

9. Ed, Edd, n Eddy (1999-2008)
Speaking of looney, this show is about 3 preteen boys who grow up in the suburbs of Peach Creek. It is entertaining to watch how they try to manage their adolescence and everything else.
They have no idea what they are doing!

10. Cow and Chicken (1997-1999)
In this show, Cow and Chicken are siblings of human parents who are living in a suburb. They navigate challenges at school and a Red Devil Guy that tries to make life hard for them.

11. Powerpuff Girls (1998-2005)
Blossom, Bubble, and Buttercup are three little girls who are also superheroes. They live with the professor, their inventor, and every day they save people in the city of Townsville.
They combat villains like the infamous Mojo Jojo, Fuzzy Lumpkins, and the Gangreen Gang.

12. Gargoyles (1994-1996)
At first glance, you would think that these guys are the villains. Even though they’re not villains, they have to deal with people that fear them.

Fun spin-off show from these supporting from the Lion King.

14. Pepper Ann (1997-2000)
If you remember ’90’s Disney weekend lineup called One Saturday Morning, then you probably remember Pepper Ann.
This show follows Pepper Ann’s life at Hazelnut Middle School.

15. Busy World of Richard Scarry (1994-1997)
We remember the books about Busytown. But this show was a great way to help little kids identify community helpers. Huckle and Lowly learned about important things like responsibility and safety in this show.

16. Freakazoid (1995-1997)
Only us weirdos remember Freakazoid! This show by Warner Bros. is about Dexter Douglas. His superpower is he’s a lunatic who has an overload of information in his brain.

Inspector gadget is a high-tech detective, but his niece, penny, and his smart dog, Brian seem to solve all of his cases.

18. Captain Planet and the Planeteers
“Earth, Fire, Wind Water Heart! Go Planet!” Captain Planet and the Planeteer’s mission is to take pollution down to zero. This issue is still relevant in pop culture today if only these characters were real.

19. CatDog (1998-2005)
These half-cat and half-dog conjoined brothers have a unique set of problems.

20. AAAHH! Real Monsters (1994-1997)
This show was about live-action young monsters in training at Monster’s Academy.

22. Bobby’s World (1990-1998)
The real world doesn’t stand a chance against creative 4-year-old Bobby. He uses his imagination to be in his own world.

24. Garfield and Friends (1988-1995)
This tv show started as a comic strip. It was so popular they made it an animated series.

25. Doug (1991-1999)
Doug Funny Is the new kid in Bluffington. He writes all about it in his journal. He has a creative writing style with alter egos Quailman and Smash Adams.

26. Rugrats (1991-2004)
Tommy Pickles and his baby friends go on some great adventures. We see how complicated a baby’s life really is.

27. Sailor Moon (1992-1997)
“Fighting evil by moonlight. Winning love by daylight.” Like the theme song said, this was a very popular Manga and tv show that showcased all-girl superheroes in the early ’90s.
This show is an anime cult classic if you were a child during this show’s peak. It is glamorous and mysterious and it all centers around Sailor moon. Her friends who are also named after other planets make this show the envy of squad goals.

28. Little Bear (1995-2003)
Based on the best-selling children’s book by Elsie Minarik and illustrated by Maurice Sendak. Little Bear is an insightful cub who lives in the forest with his family and friends.

Just like in the comic books Batman saves the people of Gotham from a variety of villains.

30. The Little Mermaid: The Animated TV Series (1992-1994)
Since the movie was so popular. There was an animated series for a couple of years after to keep up with Ariel.

31. Jungle Cubs (1996-1998)
A prequel of the Jungle Book characters when they were young cubs.

This ’90s cartoon was by far one of our favorites! Dexter is not an ordinary boy. He is a genius that has a secret laboratory where he conducts experiments to save the world.
