This blog post is all about bridal shower themes and ideas for book lovers.

Before I started my wedding blog, I was a librarian. I want to share my love of literature every chance I get. The opportunity to mix my two passions is rare, but fun when it happens.

So if the bride-to-be is a book enthusiast, consider these awesome ideas for her bridal shower. Combining literature and celebrations is a great way to express her interests uniquely.

This blog post will review the best ideas for invitations, decorations, games, and some amazing favors.

Best Bridal Shower Ideas For Book Lovers

  1. Books and Brunch

A new chapter is about to be told. Invite guests to join us for books and brunch. For invitations, you could use vintage book pages as the background. Or invitations could be designed with a cute stack of books topped with floral arrangements.

Decorations for this theme can include a stack of books as a centerpiece. For example, put some of the bride-to-be’s favorite books in a pile in the center of the table.

Stack them similar to those decorative books. You could arrange them by size or coordinate colors. Add a vase and a bouquet on top of the pile for a sophisticated touch.

You could also set up a cozy reading corner with blankets and pillows. This is a good idea for the beginning of the bridal shower when people are mingling.

Guests could relax in the reading nook and skim through books and magazines. This would be a nice activity while guests are arriving. Set the nook up close to the mimosa bar for extra points.

For table decor, you could design book-themed table settings with bookmarks and quotes. For example, each table could be based on the bride-to-be’s favorite love story.

For example, tables could be decorated with classic literature themes. With quotes from love stories like Romeo and Juliet. Or modern-day love stories like The Notebook. And poetry quotes from various authors.

Activities for a Books and Brunch event are a book swap station. Guests could bring a book they want people to read and exchange with another book enthusiast.

This is recommended for smaller more intimate groups. This activity will need some organization because the return process could be hectic.

2. Alice in Wonderland

For this idea start with some teapot-shaped invitations. Add some whimsical wording for a magic touch. For example, the invitation could say “Don’t Be Late for a Very Important Date.” For an edgier take the invitation could say “We’re All Mad Here” for a Mad Hatter aesthetic.

For decorations, a garden setting would be gorgeous—if not a garden, then a backyard with tons of greenery and flowers. Set up tables, preferably long tables with an assortment of chairs. Use colorful tablecloths and bright, unusual flowers. Decorate pots, cups, and saucers with flowers as well.

Decorate with clocks, oversized playing cards, and desserts and drinks with signage that says “Eat Me” or “Drink Me.” Serve a variety of hot and iced teas along with a variety of sandwiches, cookies, and cakes.

If you are having an Alice in Wonderland themed bridal shower in the later hours of the day, then host a cocktail hour. Serve a colorful layered drink and name it the Cheshire Cat Cocktail. Or have a Queen of Hearts signature drinks.

Activities and games could be croquet, a photo booth, hat decorating and trivia. Favors for this theme could include tea cups and a variety of teas. Another idea for c acute favors are miniature bottles that says “Drink Me.”

3. Harry Potter

For invitations chose you favorite Hogwarts House and center the theme around that. Yould take one of those Harry Potter Quizes to determining which house you and the bride-to-be belongs to. For example, if your favorite house is Gryfindor, then you could send burgundy and gold invitations.

This bridal shower theme is absolutely beautiful during the Fall and Winter months. Some of my favorite ideas for signage are “From Muggle to Mrs.” Or you could have signage with the bride-to-be’s name. Just be sure to use the iconic Harry Potter inspired fonts.

HARRY POTTER BACHELORETTE PARTY IDEAS

Harry Potter bachelorette party shirts, tank tops, and glasses are all proper attire for this celebration. But what about the other elements of bachelorette parties?

Decorations could be dark academia-inspired with plenty of props: picture witch hats and magic wands. For food ideas include some of the bride’s favorite appetisers and entres. Some dessert table treats are chocolate frogs and an enchanting mimosa bar.

Games selection for this theme is awesome. Let’s start with a Quidditch toss. Set up rings outside and throw balls through the holes.

Take it up a notch when a person misses they have to take a drink or attempt to catch the golden snitch, by tagging the quickest person in the game in 30 seconds.

For a simpler game, play Where’s the Groom. This is a card game where everyone gets an envelope with a card. At the end of the shower, guests open their envelope to a character from Harry Potter and the winner will have a picture of the groom.

4. Bridgerton

Based on the Julia Quinn books, host an elegant tea party. This theme is very romantic and inspired by London in the 19th century, for invitations imaging whimsical garden floral graphics with a fancy script headline.

A floral backdrop and hanging centerpieces with vintage teacups. You could also decorate the chairs in floral, tulle, and ribbon.

The signage should be framed in ornate gold pieces. The dress code can include dresses with plenty of florals, lace gloves, cute parasols, and floral necklaces.

They are nostalgic and some are even romantic. Since most of the best fairy tales are now Disney movies, you could use that for inspiration for the decor and attire.
