This blog post is about wedding ideas that will always be a hit.

If you are looking for some of the best wedding ideas that you could implement for your big day, then you’re in the right place. I have spent so much time online and on social media looking for ideas that will make a lasting impact on you and your wedding guests.

You’ll be surprised at how simple and creative these concepts are. As a bride-to-be, you may not want everything to be “traditional.” Or you may want some of the best practices from other weddings.

10 Wedding Ideas That Will Always Be A Hit

Here are some amazing ideas I found. And the last one is very unexpected.

1. Magnet Save the Dates

This wedding idea is practical and may sound so simple. But this is very essential. I thought everyone did this when sending wedding invitations.

If you are not familiar with the process, you typically send out Save the Dates about 6-8 months prior to the wedding date. That way guests have enough time to arrange their schedules accordingly.

Making the Save-the-Date Magnetic is a game changer because guests could simply stick it on their refrigerator. And think about your big day every time they grab a snack from their kitchen. It will remind them of the date so there’s no forgetting.

I’ve heard constantly how people keep these save the dates on their fridges. Personally, I have some of the magnetic save the dates on my fridge from my friend’s wedding to this day. Some people collect them and just leave them there for decoration.

One tip for these magnetic pieces is to drop them off at the post office when you mail them. I do NOT recommend putting them in the mailbox because it’s metal and some of them may stick to it.

If you do plan on putting them in a mailbox, use cardboard as backing to keep it from sticking.

2. Unity Ceremony

A unity ceremony allows the couple to demonstrate their bond during their union. Some examples of this are non-traditional and some are very sentimental. It’s a symbolic gesture of their unity.

Some examples of unity ceremonies are sand ceremonies, unity shots, unity candles, or tree-planting ceremonies. I’ve also seen some unconventional ones, like making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich together.

The point is to show a physical representation of their union in the style that best suits the couple.

It can be done as the main point of your ceremony or implemented seamlessly during the exchange of vows.

3. Non-Dancing Activities

Having other activities for wedding guests to do is always a hit. Especially if there are some non-dancers in the mix. Having some extra things to do like lawn games like cornhole, jumbo crossword puzzle, and Jenga. Or a snack bar, photo booth, or mini golf will always be a hit.

I have seen some extreme examples, like a bounce house or an inflatable slide. I’ve even seen a reception that featured a mechanical bull. Game shows and Karaoke are also fun

These activities could be done after the ceremony or during the reception.

4. Bubbles

Bubbles at the end of the wedding ceremony are such a cute way to exit. Guests grab a small container of bubbles and blow them at the end when the couple is walking out.

I highly recommend this for an outdoor ceremony because I’ve heard some stories from photographers. They mentioned that if bubbles are blown in the inside, then it makes the floor slippery and people may fall.

5. Memorial Section

A memorial section is for loved ones who would have been at the wedding. Some of the places dedicated to this is a seat, at the wedding ceremony with a framed picture of the loved one. Or a shelf with pictures of loved ones.

It is a sentimental gesture for loved ones who have passed away. For example, if the bride or groom was close to their grandmother who has passed could have a portion in their memorial section.

It’s a nice way to honor that loved one and have them present on the special day.

6. Polaroid Guest Book

It’s common to have a guest book present for guests to sign. How about having guests sign take a picture and add it to the guest book? It would be a fun activity for guests to participate in. Think of it as a mini photobooth area.

Then when the couple looks at their wedding guest book, they will see some if the funny polaroids people took during the event.

7. Group Photo

Get a picture of everyone together on the big day. You could add this to your photo list. Getting a group photo will capture everyone who attended the event and it’s a really fun shot.

8. First Look With Dad

First looks are growing in popularity and have been a trend to do before the wedding ceremony. Instead of doing a first look with your partner, do now with your dad.

I think this makes the most sense because traditionally, your dad will walk you down the aisle. So it would be nice to capture the moment when he first sees you.

9. Private Last Dance

After everyone leaves the reception and waiting at the exit have the DJ play your song and the couple dances together.

10. Elope

Ditch the chaos and get hitched! This is our top wedding idea because it is all about YOU and your loved one. Remember that it’s less about the wedding and more about the marriage.
