This blog post is all about creating your wedding budget.
Let’s tackle the wedding budget spreadsheet. Yes… Unfortunately, it’s that time. Setting up your wedding budget spreadsheet is the not so glamorous side of wedding planning, but it has to be done.
Your wedding budget spreadsheet means… wait for it…. Microsoft Excel… There we said it. That is a curse word in our book. But if you want an accurate and efficient wedding budget spreadsheet, you will need Excel or Google Sheets.
So how do you even get started with the intimidating task of creating your wedding budget spreadsheet? Drafting all of your wedding expenses could make your brain hurt.
Do not worry, Bridal Shower 101 has done all of it FOR YOU and for FREE… (We know, we love to too).
In this blog post we will discuss all the items in your wedding budget spreadsheet. Then we have a FREE template for you to use in Microsoft Excel set up and ready to do the math for you. We also have the same spreadsheet free for you in Google Sheets
So let’s get this show on the road…
What to include in your wedding budget spreadsheet?
You could include two main spreadsheets for your wedding budget. The first spreadsheet should be the venue costs and the second spreadsheet should include everything else. All other expenses for your wedding will be on the second spreadsheet.
How to make a wedding budget spreadsheet?
So let’s breakdown the plan. There will be two sheets in the wedding budget. This will make it easier to view once everything is calculated.
We made this spreadsheet so that if a number is changed on Sheet 1, it will change the grand total on Sheet 2.
We made this spreadsheet so that everything is connected. So if the amount is altered, it will change in the appropriate sections (totals).
Disclaimer: The totals we used in our spreadsheet are completely made up. They are just there for ideas. You could remove our made up totals and place your own totals there.
Sheet 1
In Sheet 1 of your spreadsheet you will have categories of the Ceremony fees (including officiant fees), food and drink.
In our sample spread sheet we got Ceremony fees, Passed hors d’oeuvres, entres and Bar. We also calculated the taxes at the end.
Sheet 2
In Sheet 2 of the wedding budget spreadsheet, you will see a more extensive list of items. This is everything else to include for the wedding like, Attire, Stationery, Music, Photography, and more.
Underneath each category add more details. For example, for stationery, you may need to include Save the Dates, Wedding Invitations, Bridal Shower Invitations etc.
Your Wedding Budget Spreadsheet
Here is your FREE Wedding Budget Spreadsheet. This is a complete Excel spreadsheet with categories mentioned with the calculations done for you.
Here is the Excel Spreadsheet. Please make a copy and edit that.
Here is a copy of Google Sheets if you Prefer that. Simply send us a request and we will give you access. Remember to save a copy and then edit that.
All you have to do is edit the numbers for your ACTUAL wedding costs. The we’ve put the formulas in so that the spread sheet will do the math for you.
Keep in mind that we tried to add everything that a wedding budget will cover. So if a certain topic doesn’t apply to your wedding, simply put in $0 so that it will be excluded from the your budget. DO NOT DELETE ENTIRE ROW, it may mess up the format.
If there is something that we missed, feel free to edit the spreadsheet by changing the fields. For example, we did provide examples in the passed hors d’oeuvres section, so just edit those with your actual options.
Special Funds
In Sheet 2 we have sections for special fund. This is if some gave you money to out towards your wedding.
For example, say if your parents gave you some money for you wedding and your Fiance’s parents did too.
You could put those in and it will show a decrease in your actual spending costs.
Shares
We also calculated the shared of each person. For example, if the bride and the groom were to split their total spending by half, then it is split down the middle.
But the percentages are totally up to you. And you are able to change them in the spreadsheets and your numbers will adjust.
