Who to invite to a bridal shower?
As with other pre-wedding events, the guest list should be limited to people who are also invited to the wedding. For the bridal shower, this usually includes the women of the bridal party.
This means the bride and groom’s mothers and sisters, aunts, close female cousins, and grandmothers. Sometimes female friends are included, though the number invited is contingent to how big the event is will be.
If it is a surprise shower; the key people like the maid of honor and brides mother should work together to come up with a guest list they think the bride will be happy with. Otherwise, they can have the bride assist them with the guest list, and then keep her out of the rest of the planning.

It would be a good idea to create a rough draft of the guest list and have the bride review it. That way she is not doing all the work. If it is a Jack and Jill wedding shower, men are also invited. Jack and jill wedding showers are becoming more popular and typically larger parties. In this case the groomsmen and other close male friends should be invited.
